How to Switch Supplier

We have options of choosing suppliers, regardless of where we live in Great Britain. You can choose different suppliers to supply your gas and electricity, or you can choose one company to supply both - this is known as a dual fuel contract. It is comparatively cheaper to have a dual fuel contract.
To compare the prices being offered by different suppliers with the price of your current supplier, you need to work out your expenditure for your fuel each year. Our dedicated teams of advisors are expert at working this out for you. So, if you are unsure please contact us on: 0800 63 000 63. Please make sure to have a recent bill in hand or if you pay by direct debit, let us know what your monthly direct debit is. You can do this by looking at your bills for the past year.

Questions to ask

How much will the new supplier charge?

It is mandatory for all the suppliers to publish their prices. They will provide you the details of their prices if you ask them. To get the best deal, it is worth shopping around and making comparisons between the prices offered by different suppliers in your area. This service is offered by Switch 365. Click here to find the cheapest supplier in your area.

How can I pay?

Variety of payment options are offered by the suppliers to the customers, such as weekly or quarterly, and paying by cash, postal order, cheque, direct debit or in a prepayment meter. The cheapest way to pay is by direct debit. If you have a prepayment meter, we can switch you to the cheapest supplier in your area and you can then ask them to install you a standard meter so you are able to pay by direct debit. You may also want to make sure that there are no penalties for cancelling a contract once you have signed it..

Which 'tariff' should I choose?

Keep in mind that some payment methods may be much more expensive than others. For example, it is usually cheap to pay your fuel bills online or by monthly direct debit rather than to pay by cheque or cash on a quarterly basis. Tariffs offers differ according to consumer’s circumstances.
Whatever quote you get from the supplier make sure that it includes VAT, which is charged at 5% on electricity and gas bills. This is why all the prices that we quote you at Switch 365 include VAT at 5%.

Do they have any extra or hidden charges?

The tariff presented does not decide whether it is going to be expensive or cheaper, it rather depends on the individual’s requirements, their usage, location and the charges applied by the supplier. All this information can be checked at Switch 365. Companies may charge a high unit price for the energy consumption at home or they might charge on a daily standing to make profits, the reason being any tariff can be planned in these two ways only. One, a no standing charge on NSC tariff wherein for one quarter a higher rate is charged followed by a lower rate thereon or a standing charge and a 1 low kilowatt-hour (kwh).

Do they have a high number of complaints about their service?

Switch365 provides the rating of the suppliers in terms of their service. Thus, if you have any questions regarding the performance of a supplier, their services, quality and charges, please contact our customer care and they will be happy to assist you and find the cheapest supplier for you
