We are the retail arm of RWE npower, a leading integrated UK energy supplier, part of the RWE Group. RWE npower operates and manages flexible, low-cost coal, oil and gas-fired power stations and are developing innovative energy-related technologies.

RWE Group is based in Germany; npower is based in Swindon in England.

RWE npower is the UK's largest electricity supplier. It generates electricity and supplies gas, electricity and related services to around 6.8 million customers through its retail business npower. The company operates and manages a flexible portfolio of power stations, and is a market leader in renewable energy development through its wind and hydro business npower renewables.

The npower business was formally created in October 1999 and launched in April 2000. It combines the former electricity and gas supply businesses of MEB, Calortex, MEB Powerline, National Power Energy Direct and Independent Energy, Yorkshire Electricity and Northern Electric and Gas

How does it work?

npower matches every unit of normal electricity that you use and feeds the same amount, generated from renewable sources, into the electricity network.

Plus, when you choose National Trust Green Energy, npower donates £15 to the National Trust Green Energy Fund, which invests in low and zero carbon initiatives at Trust sites. The Trust will also receive £:15 every year thereafter as long as you remain a customer.*

This tariff is available on a variety of payment methods including Direct Debit, cash, cheque or pay as you go if you have a prepayment meter.
