Switching Process

Once you have chosen which supplier and tariff you wish to switch you we will send you confirmation by post within 48 hours.

You will then receive your welcome pack form your new supplier about 10 -14 days after this time. If you have switched to an on line tariff; it is more than likely that you will receive your welcome pack by email.

The welcome pack from your new supplier will confirm your switch date; which will be approximately 6 weeks from the date you confirmed your switch.

On the switch date please let you existing supplier know your meter reading numbers. Your new supplier will liaise with your existing supplier so you do not need to anything. Once you have switched over your old supplier will send you a final statement and if you are in credit his will include a cheque.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my energy supply be interrupted when I switch supplier?

No. You will still receive your energy supply from the same source (the same pipes and cables) it is just the billing company that will change.

Am I with my new supplier as soon as I confirm my switch?

Unfortunately we are not able to switch you to your new supplier on the date you confirm who you would like to switch to. The switching process takes up to 6 weeks. The switch date will be confirmed by your new energy supplier in your welcome pack which you will receive in approximately 14 days after the date you agreed the switch. Your new supplier will deal with your old supplier so you don't need to anything.

Will I hear from my new energy supplier?

You'll receive a welcome pack and letter from your new supplier in about 14 days from the date you agreed the switch. If you are switching to an on line tariff you will probably receive this by email. The welcome pack will detail information about your switch and what you have agreed to.

Will I be billed twice?

No. When you have switched over your old supplier will send you a final statement which will include a cheque if you are in credit. Please make sure you cancel your direct debit with your old supplier before the switch date. You can cancel your direct debit by contacting your bank.

What if I change my mind?

You have a cooling off period of 7 days; the cooling off period begins from the date you receive your switch confirmation by email or post. If you decide that you no longer want to switch your supplier please contact our Customer Services Team on 0800 63 000 63 or at service@switch365.co.uk

Can I switch suppliers again?

You can switch suppliers every 56 days if you want to, however please be careful to check for cancellation charges.
